19th Annual WI/MN Cup Matches

Four Straight Not to be for Team Wisconsin

The 19th Annual WI/MN Cup Matches finished up on June 30 at SentryWorld GC in Stevens Point, WI. This event pairs a team of 12 boys and 12 girls from Wisconsin against Minnesota in a Ryder Cup team-type event that started back in 1998. SentryWorld also hosted this event back in 2006. The golf course is in great shape and the players from both teams enjoyed the renovated layout. Team MN led 7.5 to 4.5 after day one of four ball matches. Team Minnesota won 12.5 points during singles matches to Team Wisconsin's 11.5 to win the cup with a total of 20-16, Team Wisconsin holds the overall series lead now at 12-6-1.

The Junior Foundation would also like to thank the sales reps that donated tee gifts to each player. Thanks to Ted Robbins and Tom Cranwell for donating Titleist golf balls, gloves and  hats, Paul Minz for donating the team Puma Golf shirts each day, and Ron Hurab for donating an RJ Shepherd umbrella and Devant towel to each player. These guys make this event a great experience for all players.

We would also like to thank the amazing staff at SentryWorld for making this event great. Thanks to General Manager Mike James, Director of Golf Danny Rainbow and Superintendent Gary Tanko.
