In 1998 the Minnesota and Wisconsin PGA Junior Golf Associations formed an event called the Minnesota-Wisconsin PGA Junior Cup Matches. The event would consist of the two sections selecting a team of 12 boys and 12 girls to represent their section in a Ryder Cup team-type event. The formats used are four-ball matches and individual singles matches. One point is awarded for winning a match outright and half a point is awarded for a tie.
The 2009 MN-WI PGA Junior Cup Matches are taking place at The Minikahda Club July 7th and 8th. Team Wisconsin leads 7 1/2 - Team Minnesota 4 1/2 after play of the Four-Ball Matches. Day 2 was single matches for both teams. Team Wisconsin won 17 points during singles matches to Minnesota's 7 points. Final match results were Wisconsin 24 1/2 to Minnesota 11 1/2. Team Wisconsin has had the cup since 2006. Click for Day 2 match results
