Wisconsin PGA Junior Foundation
The Wisconsin PGA Junior Foundation is a not-for profit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for young people to learn life skills and to experience the enjoyment and education provided through the game of golf.
As you are aware the WPGA Junior Foundation runs one of the largest and most successful junior tour programs in the country. However, in the past few years we have added many new programs to encourage participation in this wonderful game.
By supporting the WPGA Junior Foundation, you will be supporting the following initiatives:
- The First Tee of Milwaukee County – teaching kids The First Tee Core Values through Life Skills using the game of golf as the vehicle. We teach kids how to compete in life. The First Tee of Milwaukee County is based at Noyes Park with satellite locations at Bridging the Gap, Lake Park and Dretzka Park.
- Renovations at both Noyes Park and Bridging the Gap Learning Centers. Reconstruction of the artificial putting surfaces and range surfaces are underway. Construction of a 1,700 sq. ft. learning center at Noyes will be phase 2 of this project.
- A state-wide golf in school program taught by PGA Professionals along side PE Teachers. Our goal is to bring the Life Skills and the great game of golf to all kids throughout the state. In just two years, four schools have resurrected their golf teams since we began teaching golf in their schools.
- A state-wide summer grant program to be used as follow-up for the in school programs. We want to make sure that the children exposed to the game in school have the opportunity for follow-up in the summer.
- Continuation and possible expansion of our college scholarship program which has awarded scholarships to kids across the state who show the same dedication to their studies and communities that they have to their golf games. Since our Foundation was created in 2000, we have given over $75,000 in scholarships to deserving juniors.
In addition to the above listed, we are continuing to expand our programming as necessary including our comprehensive Junior Tour program.
We are soliciting support for the Foundation in any way that you deem appropriate. Support can range from a direct financial contribution to donating equipment to volunteering your time. We very much appreciate all you have done for the Foundation to this point and look forward to working with you in the future.
If you would like to get involved further, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your consideration.
