The First Tee is a World Golf Foundation initiative dedicated to providing young people of all backgrounds an opportunity to develop, through golf and character education, life-enhancing values such as honesty, integrity and sportsmanship. The intent is to offer opportunities for improvement in the quality of life and create a platform where children can increase their potential for success.
The First Tee of Milwaukee County provides free golf programs to the youth of Milwaukee County. A majority of the kids in the First Tee programs would not have otherwise been introduced to the game of golf. Whether it’s a financial issue or location relative to a golf course, the First Tee prides itself on working with all youth wanting to learn the game.
The WPGA Junior Foundation and The First Tee of Milwaukee County want to grow their programs by offering more instruction, enhanced programs at a wider number of facilities, throughout the Greater Milwaukee area. By teaming up to develop staff, raise awareness and offer more programs to a greater number of junior golfers, these programs are sure to make a positive impact on area youth.
