Tournament Descriptions
The WPGA Junior Foundation offers many tournamnet programs for all levels of play. You can also find more information about each tournament in the tournament description in BlueGolf.
Tournament Descriptions:
Future Champions Tour - Located around the state, this tour offers 9 hole tournament experience. Juniors must be 14 years old and under to play on this tour. This tour is more for juniors who are not yet ready to play 18 holes. Juniors under the age of 12 must play in on Future tour event to qualify them to play in Junior Tour events. Age divisions are 12-14 and 11 & under for boys and girls. Juniors on this tour typically play from the forward to middle tees. Events typically start at 8:30 a.m.
Junior Tour - This tour has events located all around the state of Wisconsin. Must be 18 years old, a Wisconsin resident and or a member at a club in Wisconsin to participate and no handicap requirement. These events are 18 hole tournaments typically starting at 8 a.m. Age divisions are 16-18, 14-15, 12-13 for boys and girls. Course yardage is 6,000 - 6,350 for boys and 5,000 - 5,350 for girls.
Players Tour - The goal of the Players Tour is to have the top junior players in the state compete on golf courses set up appropriately for a high level of play. Invitations will be extended to the top finishers from the 2011 Player of the Year point list. Juniors must meet a handicap requirement to play on this tour. Boys must have an index of 8.1 and under and girls must be under 18.1. Course yardage is 6,400 - 6,800 for boys and 5,300 - 5,900 for girls. This is an Invite Only tour. If you meet the above handicap requirements, contact Andy Landenberger or Bill Ehn at the Section office to verify your handicap and make you eligible to register for Players Tour events. Events typically start at 8 a.m.*College students now eligible to play in Players Tour events.*
Milwaukee County Parks Tour - For juniors 18 and under. Tournaments played at Milwaukee County Parks golf courses. These are 18-hole stroke play events. Age divisions are 10-12, 13-14, 15-18 for both boys and girls. Age division 10-12 will play 9-holes of golf. These events start at 8 a.m. and are tee times.
Pepsi Par 3 Tour - The Pepsi Par 3 is the next step in the progression of a junior golfer interested in begining competitive golf. The tour consists of 8 regular events and an Invitational event at the end of the season.
For juniors 18 and under. Played on Milwaukee County par 3 golf courses. Age divisions are 7-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-18 for boys and girls. Tee times start at 8:30 a.m. and are based on age division.
Lake Arrowhead Invitational - Invite only based on player points accumulated throughout the summer before the event in August. Our final major event of the year played at Lake Arrowhead Golf Courses in Nekoosa.
Journal Sentinel Tournament - For boys and girls 18 and under. Juniors play 18-hole stroke playe event in age divisions. Played at Currie Park GC on July 11-12.
SentyWorld Classic - The 4th annual girls only event. Open to girls 18 and under. Played at SentryWorld golf course in Stevens Point. A clinic will be provided after the event. Event will be on July 23rd.
Junior Best-Ball - We added an additional best ball event for the 2012 season. The Bull at Pinehurst Farms will host on June 12. This event will be a members only event, both players must be junior members to participate. Windwood of Watertown will host the second best ball event on July 27. This event is open to everyone.
